2 Daddies or 2 Mummies

I have a weird situation, my son is almost four, and his father just had contact so his parents could see Colin(my son, as the he and him gets confusing after a while)...Never wanted him on holidays, or birthdays, or for extra time, just what he had a"right"to...which is a whole other ugly story that I'll spare you. Once I started dating my husband he changed his tune.....he was all about being called daddy, we got married back in May, and this year was the first year he ever asked for Father's Day, which we don't celebrate(nor do we celebrate Mother's day for any guys out there about to object), but I said ok, what the heck why not. Colin calls my husband Daddy, one day deadbeat, says Colin said I was his father and Josh(husband) was his daddy....I said well......I think a daddy is someone who stays up at night when kids are sick, misses work to make the rush trips to er when asthma flairs up, goes to school parties, packs lunchs and take special trips with kids, not someone who picks him up once or twice a week and stares at him, or leaves him inside while they go out and fix their car.....He says I understand but that's not right...whatever! So now my 4 yr old calls his father daddy and my husband Josh when said father is around and the minute our front door closes, says daddy, do I have to go back to Doug's(his father)? Mind you I have not told him to do this, I have no idea how or where he came upon this but he is a smart little boy so anything is possible.......THe real kicker is, he asked how I'd feel if my son called his girlfriend Mom...I said if she took care of him, or did anything other then yell at him or ignore him, I wouldn't be bothered.....Biology has nothing to do with daddy and mommy, but it has everything to do with Mother and Father.......So let the kids call you whatever they're comfortable calling you.....ultimately, they'll be the ones who decided where you fit in their lives anyway!
