BY BILL MILLERA 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg Wednesday in Garland, and police suspect a Dallas man did it.
H.C. Brown, 43, is believed to frequently visit Garland, although he lives in Dallas, according to a news release from Garland Police.Witnesses told police that the teen was shot about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 200 block of South Barnes Drive on Garland's west side. The area is southeast of the intersection of Walnut Street and South Jupiter Road.Officers arrived and found the teen lying in front of the apartment with a gunshot wound to the leg.The witnesses said Brown and the boy apparently argued earlier, Officer Joe Harn said in the news release. They also described the shooting."The 16-year-old came riding up on his bicycle in front of the apartment where Brown was located,"Harn said."Brown approached him, said something to the boy, produced a handgun and shot him."Brown ran away, and the boy was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, where he was listed in stable condition, Harn said.Brown is 6-2 and 200 pounds, Harn said.
