| I can understand your concerns regarding your daughter being allowed to go to the park unattended, this is unacceptable. The other things that you mentioned seem a little extreme though. Insisting the an 8yr old be kept clean; an 8 yr old can wash herself, they also have a habit of playing in muck - it's fun.Also most adults swear, even with the best intentions. A younger child wonuldn't understand not to copy but an 8 yr old should. However I agree that the racist language needs to stop of course. My son came home from his dad's singing racist songs and telling racist jokes when he was your daughters age, I simply told him straight that I would not stand for it in my house. It didn't last long.Your wifes ex does not put any'stipulations'on how you should bring up the child. So why have you? Some things are set up to fail and I feel that sadly this is one of them. |
